NEAL BARNES – Chief Executive Officer

Neal Barnes has held several executive positions and Board positions, including President. He has run large scale industrial construction and maintenance companies in various roles such as the Regional Director of Oilsands for a major General Contracting Company. Neal played a key role in the acquisition, transition, and consolidation of company takeovers, was responsible for the financial and operational performance of the core business and lead the transition from an operating loss to profitability and revenue growth within two years.

Neal has also owned and operated successful business ventures, providing specialist contracting and consulting services in the industrial markets. In his consulting role, he worked extensively with Indigenous communities developing their commercial models and partnerships. This included leading the negotiation and development of Impact Benefit Agreements with producers on behalf of several communities.

Prior to his executive experience, Neal had operational leadership roles at the Senior Construction Manager and Site Superintendent levels in construction and maintenance projects. This included responsibility for major Turnaround and new plant construction at multiple sites across the mining, energy, and resource industries within Canada and internationally.

Neal’s career is a unique blend of workplace to boardroom experience combined with entrepreneurial creativity. This translates directly to the essence of Minestar’s organizational design and operating philosophy, with hands on direct leadership engagement, from President to tradesman, and organizational focus on service delivery effectiveness.

KEVIN HO – Chief Financial Officer

Kevin Ho was a Partner at a Mid Cap Financial organization, where he built out their Commercial Brokerage team. With 14 years of banking experience, Kevin is renowned for having an unwavering dedication to client success, and comprehensive understanding of complex financial landscapes. With a career spanning well over a decade, Kevin has solidified his reputation as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to businesses of all sizes.

Kevin, has held various roles within commercial banking, gaining invaluable experience across different sectors and geographies. From relationship management to credit analysis and risk assessment, He has the ability to structure substantial financial transactions. Leveraging key comprehensive structures, he is able to create high-value funding deals and fund clients internationally.

One of Kevin’s defining traits is his innate ability to forge strong, enduring relationships with clients. Many of his clients have grown from small size businesses to large corporations, with needs in both private and public sectors.

SUNNY SRA – Chief Operating Officer

Sunny is a dynamic and visionary leader with a wealth of experience driving growth, innovation, partnerships across diverse industries. With a career spanning over two decades in real estate, development, infrastructure, and policy advisory to political candidates.

Sunny has specialized experience in home building. Beginning in 2004 Sunny founded a development corporation that successfully built over 1000 homes ranging from duplexes, single family, and multi-family buildings and commercial developments. He is well acquainted and has long relationships, with both foreign and domestic markets.

SHAUN MERRIMAN – Vice President of Finance

A key member of the executive leadership team who sets and manages financial controls and accounting and reporting procedures to ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the Company.

Specifically manages cash flow, plans for capital expenses, reviews budgets and prepares financial performance reports for review by external auditors. Responsibilities include helping develop strategic partnerships, negotiate funding and policy development and effective relationships with financial institutions.

Prior to joining WCI, Shaun spent over a decade working at some of Canada’s largest Six banks where he then transitioned to the private sector as CFO of Canada’s fastest growing cell phone repair chain recognized with multiple business awards for growth, customer excellence, sustainability and business leadership.

GERRY GIN, B.COMM - Director, Financial Services

With over 30 years of experience in various roles within the commercial banking and insurance industries, Gerry is an accomplished professional with a deep understanding of financial risk assessment and complex finance structuring .

As Director of Financial Services, Gerry is responsible for overseeing all aspects of WCI’s financial services division including management of our loan portfolio, providing innovative debt and equity financing solutions, and executing mergers and acquisitions that align with our core values and contribute to the company’s long term strategic growth objectives.
